On October 13, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said indications pointed to Russian intelligence having commissioned a September 23 fire at a Starlink ground station in Poland’s Mazovia region. Two Turkish citizens arrested in Nürtingen, Germany, on October 12 were ordered detained by a German investigating judge while Poland’s extradition request was considered, EFE reported in an account carried by Infobae.

The station’s reported damage and role in Ukraine

dpa-AFX identified the site as Wola Karbowska and reported that the fire affected the station’s electrical supply and generator. The agency said a station failure could have caused problems with internet service. EFE described the station as important to Ukrainian communications and military operations.

What Polish police said investigators collected

Polish Police Chief Marek Boron said investigators had secured recordings, fingerprints, DNA traces, and information about the suspects’ movements and travel, dpa-AFX reported.
