Valve’s City Never Sleeps update for Deadlock, released in late September 2026, overhauls the city map and neutral creatures, reveals six heroes, and brings HUD, accessibility, and quality-of-life changes.
A brighter city and a visual overhaul
The update substantially reworks Deadlock’s urban map and the neutral creatures found across it. The redesigned setting includes a brighter city center, an enchanted university, a stock exchange, and four districts with distinct identities.
Six heroes, with a reported player-voted rollout
The six revealed heroes are Nurse Harrow, Rat King, Solomon, Deadman Danny, Baba, and Violet. A reported schedule called for their staged rollout to begin October 2, 2026, at two heroes per week, with players voting on the order.
HUD, accessibility, and quality-of-life changes
The interface changes include more visible health bars, indicators for nearby allies, a clearer kill feed, and a reorganized shop with filters. Players can customize interface colors and use subtitles. Options also automate some movement and shooting actions.
The update adds tools for creating training bots and accessing more detailed combat information. It was also reported to include up to 10,000 new dialogue lines.
Deadlock’s access in September 2026
As of late September 2026, access to Deadlock was invitation-restricted, and no public launch date had been announced.
