BlizzCon 2018 has so far been a mix of sweet desserts and bitter drinks that fans are trying to process. Overwatch maintains its formula intact with new characters and a Pixar-worthy animated short. On the other side, Diablo: Immortal was absolutely shredded after its presentation as a mobile-oriented title. Now the question is: What about Warcraft? Something very good, to be honest: Warcraft III will have a remastered version thanks to Warcraft III Reforged. This revision will take us back to the great conflict between the Alliance, the Horde, and the Burning Legion, with updated graphics and 4K resolution.
Diablo, Warcraft, StarCraft. These three fundamental pillars of Blizzard have entertained us for years, and with each new BlizzCon, we always hope to get a little more. The rumor machine worked at full speed. The term 'Diablo 4' began to amplify through social media. And when the announced novelty was Diablo: Immortal, the hype turned into a massacre. I could reproduce until boredom all the colorful expressions from fans about this smartphone edition of Diablo. However, BlizzCon 2018 gave us extra material. Of course, I mean Warcraft III Reforged:
Warcraft III Reforged: Never Looked Better
That's right: More than 16 years have passed since Warcraft III took our computers by storm, but in 2019 Warcraft III Reforged arrives. Just like what happened with the original StarCraft, Blizzard decided to update one of its gems. The company confirmed that maps and characters will be completely remodeled, and there will be 4K support. At the same time, we'll see Battle.net compatibility for creating custom environments, the presence of the World Editor that gave rise to projects like DotA and League of Legends, and several balance adjustments that were pending.
Warcraft III Reforged will be available at some point to be confirmed next year, but the most hardcore fans can already participate in the pre-order process. The standard edition costs 30 euros, while the special Spoils of War edition goes up to 40 euros, and includes additional items. Personally, I'm going to be a bit annoying by saying that Blizzard could declare the classic Warcraft games freeware, but Warcraft III Reforged is an excellent starting point.
