A Sam Raimi who doesn't show his flamboyance, but rather his experience behind the camera. At first, The Gift disappointed me a bit. I expected something more in the line of the Evil Dead saga or Darkman. But nothing of that here. This is a serious and sober film, a supernatural thriller, in which a clairvoyant must help in the search for a missing young woman. Over the years and multiple viewings, the film grew in my heart, and recently I watched it again and I think it's very worthy of recommendation, especially if you like stories of this style (like, for example, "Stir of Echoes", 1999).
