My city went back to a hard lockdown because an irresponsible person with COVID from another city slipped into town, bypassing the checkpoints, to join an underground gambling table. A "timbero," as we say around here. The family that took him in held a dinner with relatives and friends a few days later, and to cut a long story short, we ended up with a bunch of infections and 300 people in isolation. As a result, I've given up: it's been five days since I last showered. But what I haven't stopped doing is gathering images for the Weekly Visual Dump, or recommending movies. So here we go! Enjoy!

A hilarious comedy with one of the members of "The Lonely Island", now better known for starring in the sitcom "Brooklyn Nine-Nine". It's another spin on the classic dilemma of being stuck in a time loop à la "Groundhog Day" (1993), whose previous film iteration was "Happy Death Day" (2017), which was also good. "Palm Springs" starts off as insolent comedy, but at some point it commits to being a romantic comedy. I liked it a lot. It premiered a few days ago directly on Hulu, so copies are already circulating "by other means".
