A U.S. Office of Government Ethics filing made public October 8 lists four Nvidia purchases and one sale by Donald Trump in August 2026. That same day, Trump presented Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang with the National Medal of Science, the White House said.

Nvidia transactions listed in the August filing

The OGE Form 278-T records five Nvidia transactions, each with a date and a value band:

Transaction dateTypeDisclosed value band
August 3, 2026Purchase$250,001–$500,000
August 10, 2026Purchase$1,001–$15,000
August 17, 2026Purchase$500,001–$1,000,000
August 21, 2026Sale$500,001–$1,000,000
August 26, 2026Purchase$15,001–$50,000

A value band gives a lower and upper bound for a transaction rather than its exact amount. Adding the lower endpoints of the four purchase bands gives $766,004; adding the upper endpoints gives $1,565,000. Those sums describe the combined range represented by the entries, not the precise total spent.

Huang received the National Medal of Science

On October 8, 2026, Trump presented Huang with the National Medal of Science at the White House’s Science: A New Golden Age Summit. The White House citation recognized Huang for advancing the graphics processing unit (GPU) into a general-purpose computing architecture through processor-design and software innovations.

The White House response

White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said independent managers handled investment decisions and denied that conflicts of interest existed. That is the administration’s position.

What the filing covers

Form 278-T is a periodic report of qualifying securities purchases, sales or exchanges worth more than $1,000 made on behalf of the filer, a spouse or a dependent child, subject to stated exceptions. It reports transaction value bands rather than a complete portfolio balance, so the entries do not give Trump’s post-trade Nvidia share count.

The President is exempt from the principal criminal conflict-of-interest statute, 18 U.S.C. § 208. Financial-disclosure duties and the STOCK Act’s restrictions on using nonpublic information for private profit remain relevant.
