Amazon’s delivery glasses are reported to capture still images every few seconds while drivers are on foot, in addition to supporting delivery tasks such as package scanning and proof-of-delivery photos. Amazon describes the glasses as part of a work system for its Delivery Associates, with plans to expand deployment in 2026 and 2027.
What the glasses do on a delivery route
Amazon says the glasses provide package scanning, walking directions and delivery instructions, and can take proof-of-delivery photos. They can also alert a driver when delivery information indicates a pet may be present. The system includes a controller worn with the delivery vest, a swappable battery and a hardware privacy switch. Amazon says the glasses are designed to activate after the delivery vehicle is safely parked.
The system supports prescription lenses. Amazon says use is voluntary for Delivery Service Partner owners and their teams of Delivery Associates.
What’s reported about image capture and processing
Separate reports describe the glasses taking still images every few seconds while a driver is on foot, then sending them for human analysis and use in an AI system. The reported process would blur people and vehicle license plates before human review.
Amazon’s listed hardware privacy switch is a separate feature from that reported image-capture workflow. The periodic capture and processing details remain reported claims, rather than features listed in Amazon’s product description.
Amazon’s tests and planned expansion
Amazon reports that more than 500 Delivery Associates tested the glasses over 18 months and completed more than 275,000 deliveries with the system. In a September 21, 2026 update, the company said it planned to deploy an additional 5,000 devices in 2026 and more than 20,000 devices by the end of 2027.
