Yahoo Finance reported on October 13, 2026, that investors had been invited to a pre-IPO gathering at Anthropic’s San Francisco headquarters scheduled for October 14. The report put a potential valuation of $1.8 trillion to $2 trillion in the category of investor and banker expectations—not a figure publicly set by Anthropic. Yahoo Finance’s account attributed the invitation and valuation discussion to a Barchart contributor analysis.

The valuation range was an expectation

The reported range describes what investors and bankers might expect for a future offering. It is not an offering price per share. Yahoo Finance compared it with Anthropic’s reported $965 billion post-money valuation in its May 2026 Series H financing. The $2 trillion figure has also been the subject of earlier NeoTeo coverage; this report adds the scheduled investor gathering and a possible timetable.

The reported IPO calendar depended on a November plan

Yahoo Finance relayed Bloomberg’s report that formal marketing could begin during the week of November 9. If that schedule held, a public prospectus was estimated around October 25. The same October 13 account described trading before Thanksgiving, November 26, as a target, with year-end as a fallback. Each date depended on the reported timetable; none was a fixed listing date.

The report described a potential Nasdaq listing. It put the prospectus and marketing steps before a possible public debut, rather than reporting a completed offering.

Existing shareholders might sell shares, too

The Information’s Cory Weinberg discusses the possible sale of existing shareholders’ shares in Anthropic’s IPO.

On August 28, The Information’s senior reporter Cory Weinberg reported that Anthropic was planning to let existing shareholders sell at least some shares in the offering. That would give the proposed deal a possible sale by current holders, as well as any shares sold by the company. The report describes a contemplated structure, not final offering terms.

What the reported financial figures say

Reuters reporting on a leaked prospectus, as summarized by Yahoo Finance and Calcalist Tech, put Anthropic’s 2025 revenue at about $4.6 billion and its net loss at about $42 billion. Yahoo Finance also described $518 billion in compute commitments.

Calcalist Tech’s September 29 account attributed roughly $34 billion of the reported net loss to an accounting charge related to financing that could convert into shares. The charge reflected an increase in the estimated value of that financing, rather than cash spent operating the business. The reported loss therefore includes a substantial financing-related accounting item, not an equivalent amount of operating cash expenditure.
