Apple announced Apple HomeView on October 13, 2026: a 7-inch smart display in tabletop and wall-mounted versions. In the U.S., each model costs $299; preorders opened October 13, and availability is scheduled to begin November 13, according to Apple’s launch announcement. The details that matter day to day are the ones with strings attached: personal-context Siri AI needs another Apple device, and smart-home controls depend on compatible accessories.
A shared display with two setups
HomeView has a 7-inch Liquid Retina display with True Tone and adaptive brightness from 0.3 to 500 nits. The tabletop version has a domed speaker base and a stainless-steel tilt hinge; the separate wall-mounted model is designed for wall placement. Apple lists both at the same U.S. price.
The audio hardware differs by configuration. The tabletop model has two full-range drivers in the display, a down-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators in its base. The wall-mounted model has two drivers with audio tuned for wall placement.
The announcement follows NeoTeo’s earlier report on Apple’s planned smart-home reveal; Apple has now named the display HomeView and specified its launch features and U.S. price.
What Siri AI needs from an iPhone or iPad
Apple says HomeView can answer general questions and hold natural conversations with Siri AI. Personal context—such as information from Calendar or Messages—and actions across apps require a paired iPhone or iPad enabled for Apple Intelligence, with Siri AI enabled and a supported language. Apple also says setup and multiuser support require a compatible iPhone or iPad running the latest software.
HomeView can recognize up to six people and give each a personalized Home Screen. Apple says Siri AI is in beta in HomeView software version 27.2 and is available in English in the U.S. and several other named markets.
Compatible apps, accessories and camera feeds
Apple says HomeView supports compatible third-party audio and video apps. Availability can vary by region; some apps may require a subscription or a nearby compatible iPhone.
For home controls, HomeView works with compatible HomeKit- or Matter-enabled accessories, which are sold separately. The Home Camera face can display up to nine video feeds at once. HomeKit Secure Video features require compatible cameras and an eligible iCloud+ subscription.
U.S. timing and the wider rollout
Apple scheduled HomeView availability to begin November 13 in the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and the U.K. South African sales through authorized resellers are scheduled for the same date; Singapore preorders are scheduled to start October 15. Apple says HomeView is not for sale in the European Union while Siri AI is unavailable in iOS there, and says it is working with the EU to find a path forward.
Apple also announced the Apple Home Collection, a range of cameras, thermostats and a lock developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Apple scheduled the collection to begin becoming available in December, with select accessories planned for early 2027.
