MacRumors reported that updates for both the Apple Creator Studio and standalone Mac versions of Logic Pro began rolling out on November 5, 2026. The standalone app was identified as Logic Pro 13.0, with changes to its sound browser and drum-separation tools; the Intelligent Assistant requires a Creator Studio subscription, according to the report.
Logic Pro began the reported rollout
Apple announced the planned November Creator Studio update on October 27, including changes across its creative and productivity apps. Its announcement also outlined planned assistants for Pages, Numbers and Keynote, a topic NeoTeo covered in an earlier report. The announcement date preceded the reported Logic Pro rollout.
Logic Pro 13.0 changes the sound workflow
MacRumors reported that Logic Pro’s Unified Browser brings loops, one-shots, instrument and effect patches, and plug-in presets into one place. It can classify added sounds, search with natural-language prompts and browse licensed Splice sounds.
The updated Stem Splitter can separate a drum recording into kick, snare, hi-hat, toms, cymbals and other percussion, then let users rebalance those parts without the original multitrack recording. Other listed changes include Sidecar control from an iPad, Play Surface and multi-select in Step Sequencer, alongside a Liquid Glass redesign.
John Voorhees of MacStories reported that he edited four podcast episodes in a Logic Pro beta and saw little change in his limited podcast-editing workflow. He noted the repositioned Unified Browser and darker redesign as more noticeable changes.
The Intelligent Assistant is tied to Creator Studio
MacRumors reported that Logic Pro’s Intelligent Assistant is a beta feature requiring a Creator Studio subscription; it is not part of the one-time-purchase version. Apple describes the assistant as helping users navigate production workflows, start a song, set up a vocal track from a prompt or refine a project. Apple says it combines Apple-built models with OpenAI models in its announcement.
The practical split: Logic Pro’s reported sound and editing changes reach the standalone app, while the Intelligent Assistant is tied to Creator Studio.
