Google’s US third-party app-store directory lists Aptoide Games, and Google’s Third-party App Store on Play program distributes participating stores to US users. For US Android users, that means Aptoide Games has a route through Google Play; the program does not make that route worldwide. Google’s program terms set its US scope, and Google Play’s directory lists Aptoide Games.

What the Play listing offers

You can find third-party stores through Play Store search or the account menu. Search for “app stores” to reach the directory, then choose Aptoide Games. The program became effective on July 22, 2026, for eligible third-party stores distributed through Google Play to US users.

Andrew Grush of Android Authority reported that he found and installed Aptoide Games from Google Play and had it open in under a minute. He described a familiar interface and a catalog that included Google Play-hosted apps alongside some Aptoide exclusives and reward-linked apps. He also found parts of the catalog redundant with Google Play. Those are his hands-on observations, not a measured catalog breakdown or a promise about every user’s installation time.

A Google Play listing gives Aptoide Games a convenient route to US users; it does not make every Play app part of Aptoide’s catalog.

Why the catalog can differ from Google Play

Aptoide Games does not automatically receive every Google Play app. Developers can manage whether their listings are available to third-party stores or opt out, and only eligible apps that opt in are included in the catalog export. Google says downloads of eligible Play apps offered through the program are completed through Google Play, where Google Play’s service fee still applies. Its catalog-access terms explain developer inclusion choices and the download path; Google’s catalog export documentation describes the eligible listings.

Google also sets requirements for participating stores. A store must be registered as an organization, operate as an open marketplace for eligible developers, secure written authorization and necessary distribution rights, and meet user-safety, privacy, security and support requirements. Stores can curate or limit their catalogs, but they must submit their store app and catalog apps for Google review before serving them.

Google Play distribution and Android store registration are separate

Google’s Third-party App Store on Play program distributes participating stores through Google Play to US users. Android Registered App Stores is a separate program for operating-system-level capabilities, including one-tap installation. Its FAQ says availability is scheduled to begin December 1, 2026, on devices running Android 17 QPR2 or higher in the regions Google lists. Android’s program page and FAQ describe that separate route.

The July program date and December start date refer to different programs, with different roles and eligibility conditions. Android’s registration does not itself put a store in Google Play’s directory.

The fees and audit rules apply to store operators

Google’s terms set a $15,000 annual service fee for participating stores, with $5,000 credited toward manual review costs. Google invoices those costs when they reach $10,000 or monthly, whichever comes first. It also audits random samples of catalog apps; to remain in the program, a store must keep content-policy violations at or below 2% of the audited apps. These are program costs and requirements for store operators, not a price for users to install Aptoide Games. Google’s enrollment terms specify the fees and audit threshold.
