Marvel has finally released the last trailer for the grand finale of this phase of the MCU. Following the recent premiere of Captain Marvel, which serves as a direct link to Endgame, Marvel decided to launch the final trailer that was expected in two weeks. Although they promised not to give any hints to build more anticipation, they gave us some data we already anticipated.
This second and final trailer keeps the tone of the previous one, where all our heroes are still distraught over Thanos's last action (The Decimation) in Infinity War and the disappearance of half the universe. As expected, they don't show us anything relevant to the plot, let alone Thanos's appearance. It's understandable since even though in the comics the Mad Titan dies several times at the hands of various characters (Doctor Doom, Captain Marvel, Deadpool, Adam Warlock, Drax, Nebula, and even Thanos himself), here the story will be different. Let's go back to the trailer and the dilemma: Tony Stark: Will he return? Will he be stranded in space? Well, that's something this trailer did tell us, and although it was expected (it was crazy to think Iron Man wouldn't be in the final fight), they end up confirming it. Tony appears alongside the rest of the Avengers, all debuting a new shared outfit. And Nebula is also an Avenger!
One of the characters returning to the starting lineup is Hawkeye, who was absent in Infinity War. Here we see him with a different look and, like the rest of the heroes, overcoming losses.
Another returning character is Ant-Man. Played by Paul Rudd, he didn't participate in Avengers because he was in a subatomic reality and wasn't affected by Thanos's power. His last appearance with the Avengers was in the internal fight in Civil War, where Iron Man and Captain America faced off.
Last but not least is the appearance of Captain Marvel, who was contacted by Fury at the end of Infinity War and could be vital for the outcome of this film.
The cast of those who weren't exterminated by Thanos: Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Brie Larsson (Captain Marvel), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Don Cheadle (Iron Patriot), and Tilda Swinton (Ancient One). Finally, Josh Brolin will play the fearsome Thanos.
Marvel will close an epic era for superhero cinema with Avengers: Endgame. It arrives on April 26 and will also mean a generational change.
