Is there a Minecraft fan at home? Maybe you spent thousands of hours in that game? Then why not build something "outside" of it? The nature of this popular sandbox and 3D printing have forged a formidable chemistry, and the web is full of models to decorate any space. One of the most interesting is based on diamond ore, which we can easily turn into a lamp.

With twelve years on its shoulders and over 160 million active users per month, Minecraft has become the quintessential sandbox. Naturally, its cultural impact has been immense, to the point that the game has its own convention, but fans also express their affection and loyalty through 3D printing. A simple search on Thingiverse yields hundreds of results with ready-to-print models, and the one that brings us together here today is diamond ore, which Instructables user Amit_Jain turned into a lamp.

Of course, a creeper couldn't be missing...

The lamp is so simple to make that we barely need a soldering iron for a couple of points. Amit_Jain recommends three LR44 batteries, three or more blue LEDs, a small switch, metal pieces for battery contacts, and the circuit (the solid core of a coaxial cable is a great candidate), a bit of wax paper (also "parchment paper" or "baking paper" works; the idea is to add a diffusion film for the LEDs), quick glue, and a cutter.

Now, Amit_Jain is selling his model on Cults3D for 70 euro cents, and it already includes the battery socket, but nothing stops you from downloading one of the remixes on Thingiverse and letting the circuit "float" inside the lamp.
