Business Process Management Programs

The goal of the programs listed here is to improve your company's performance by managing your core business processes. By being able to see these processes, a company can identify mistakes made in different areas and improve them. The programs mentioned are ideal for a small or medium business. If you have a large company, these tools will fall short of your needs. The environments allow you to create end events, variables for processing, add functions, and other process elements.

ProcessMaker

ProcessMaker is one of the best business process management programs. To install it, you'll need to run the .exe file. Once done, a new tab will open in your web browser to configure the local host. From its functions you can create a business process from scratch. Or design, report, execute, or improve created processes. From the top of its interface, you can add process elements such as: task, gateway, start event, intermediate event, group, lane, loop tool, etc. (by dragging and dropping elements). On the right side, you'll find process objects that can be added to the design. When the work is finished, you can save it or export it in PMX (file) or BPMN (design) format.

Camunda

Camunda is another very good business process management program. With its free plan you cannot create new business processes, but you can verify existing ones (templates or demos). Each process has a graph, editable variables, incident verification, and user tasks, among many other options.

The platform offers these main services:

• Admin: Create new users, create a new group, review the list of groups, etc.
• Tasklist: Create tasks, group tasks, filter tasks, etc.
• Cockpit: You can view running process instances, incidents, etc.

The platform is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Its installation is very similar to ProcessMaker.

Bflow

Bflow is a business process management program. The environment has a simple interface divided into three panels. In the center, you can create and edit processes. On the left section, you'll find projects and workspaces created by the administrator. On the right section you'll find: events, functions, process interface, internal staff, external staff, products, objectives, relationships, control flow arc, information flow arc, etc. A notable feature of the utility is the ability to customize its interface: manipulating the font, changing colors and iconography, among other options. Once the work is finished, you can export it in EPC format. The program is free and available for Windows operating systems.
