Recently, OpenAI announced DALL-E 3, the most advanced version of its image generation model, which includes full integration with ChatGPT. Right now it is a research preview and will first arrive to ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise plans in October. However, Microsoft announced that DALL-E 3 will become part of Bing, providing a free path to access this new model.
If you close your eyes, spin around twenty times, and throw a stone, you’ll most likely hit an image generation model. The number of available platforms has multiplied in recent months, offering all kinds of free plans and modes. But most of them just follow the pace of the big developments, and one of those is DALL-E 3.
With this new version, OpenAI takes a gigantic leap in quality, but a large part of its capability lies in the integration with ChatGPT (or at least, that is what the official presentation video suggests). Now, DALL-E 3 is in the research preview phase, and only ChatGPT Plus or Enterprise users will have the privilege of trying it in October. However, a new player has entered the game, and that is Microsoft.
Microsoft Will Offer DALL-E 3 in Bing Chat
Last Thursday, the Redmond giant confirmed the integration of DALL-E 3 into its Bing Chat platform, so users will be able to request images directly in their conversations, just as they can now. The difference is that with the new engine, the results should be much more complete. Some sites reported that you can already use DALL-E 3 with Bing Chat, but that has not been the case for our profiles.
Everything suggests the rollout will be gradual, and Microsoft will add its own flavor to the generator. Every time we asked Bing Chat about the model it uses, it refused to share that information. Either way, the possibility of using Bing Chat as a shortcut to access DALL-E 3 for free is very good, and it deserves close attention. The radar stays on.
