Dyson’s Nurovi lineup divides robot cleaning into three increasingly ambitious jobs: dry vacuuming with the R1 Nurovi Dry, vacuuming plus mopping with the R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry, and UV-assisted stain detection with the R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV. US prices run from $549.99 for the R1 to $1,199.99 for the R3, while a Costco availability tracker lists the R2 at $699.99.
Dyson Nurovi: three robots, three cleaning jobs
The range is easier to understand as a progression of cleaning systems rather than three near-identical models:

That makes the R1 the straightforward choice for floors where vacuuming is the priority. The R2 is the step up for homes that also need routine wet cleaning. The R3 is the feature-heavy flagship, built around targeted stain treatment rather than simple mop coverage.
What each model offers
Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry
The R1 is a vacuum-only robot that uses high-speed LiDAR, line lasers and edge sensors for navigation. Dyson lists 21,000 Pa of suction in Powerful mode, a claimed maximum runtime of 120 minutes and a self-emptying cyclonic dock rated to hold up to 90 days of dry debris.
Its Twin-Capture system separates coarse debris collection from the airflow path used for fine dust. The robot also has an anti-tangle brush bar and an extending 1.06-inch side sweeper. In Auto mode, Dyson says a Piezo sensor can detect dust levels in real time and increase suction, with up to twice the suction under that condition.
The R1 is listed at $549.99 in the US. Its dimensions are 13.9 × 13.9 × 3.8 inches, and it weighs 7.5 pounds.
Dyson R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry
The R2 adds wet cleaning while retaining the Nurovi vacuum system. Its most unusual hardware detail is the pair of Reuleaux-triangle mop pads, a three-sided shape designed to reduce the center gap associated with circular pads.
Dyson’s Twin-Capture system also appears here, and launch coverage reported 21,000 Pa of suction. The dock is bagless and uses eight cyclones; it is rated for up to 90 days of debris. Reported dock functions include washing the mop pads with water heated to 167°F and drying them at 113°F.
The R2 was reported as a Costco-exclusive US launch model at about $700. A Costco availability tracker lists the price at $699.99. The product’s core appeal is simple: it combines vacuuming and mopping without moving up to the R3’s stain-scanning system.
Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV
The R3 adds the most specialized cleaning hardware in the range. It combines a self-cleaning roller, 12-point hydration, heated water and UV-assisted stain verification. Dyson says the robot can identify nearly 200 spills, stains and objects, and can make up to 15 cleaning passes on difficult stains.
The UV system is designed to check between cleaning passes whether a stain remains. That makes the R3’s approach different from a robot that simply follows a preset mopping route: its advertised workflow is to detect a target, clean it and scan again.
Dyson lists 30,000 Pa of suction, up to 200 minutes of runtime and a dock rated for up to 100 days of debris. The dock uses 10 cyclones, washes with water heated to 158°F and dries with air heated to 131°F. The R3 measures 14.7 × 14.5 × 4.3 inches, weighs 14.6 pounds and has a listed three-hour charge time.
The US list price is $1,199.99. The R3’s US sale date was reported as September 15, 2026.
LiDAR, Twin-Capture and the stain-scanning idea
All three Nurovi models are presented as LiDAR-equipped robots, while the R1 and R2 use Twin-Capture to divide coarse debris collection from fine-dust airflow. In practical terms, Dyson is treating the vacuum path as more than a single brush-and-bin arrangement.
The R3 takes a different path on the wet-cleaning side. Its roller is designed to clean itself, and its UV system is intended to help identify residue that may not be obvious under ordinary lighting. Dyson’s claims about the number of substances and objects the R3 can identify, its suction figures and its cleaning passes describe advertised capabilities rather than a home-cleaning performance verdict.
US prices and the buying decision
For a dry-floor routine, the R1 is the least expensive entry point at $549.99 and avoids paying for wet-cleaning hardware you may not use. The R2 costs about $150 more than the R1 at the listed US prices and adds mopping through its triangular pads. The R3 costs $500 more than the R2 and concentrates that extra hardware and price on the self-cleaning roller, heated-water system and UV-assisted stain workflow.
The key choice is therefore the cleaning task. Pick the R1 for dry vacuuming, the R2 when regular mopping matters, and the R3 when Dyson’s stain-detection approach is the feature that justifies the premium. The launch figures establish what Dyson says each model is built to do; they do not by themselves identify a winner in everyday cleaning performance.
