No, this isn't the first time 'Salem's Lot gets an adaptation. If memory serves, it arrived on TV in '79 and in 2004, with some sequels and prequels along the way. For a long time it was believed that Stephen King was unadaptable, however, the success of It and its sequel made us change our minds. Gary Dauberman (who wrote the two It movies) has taken the helm of this new 'Salem's Lot, writing and directing. The fact that it's set in the '70s (like the original material) is already a great success, and the dense atmosphere definitely helps. I hope it doesn't fail.
