Okaaaay… judging by the online response, this trailer has struck a nerve. The original film has many followers, and I don't mean only the ex-depressed teenagers who found satisfaction in a gothic Brandon Lee killing mobsters 30 years ago.
The most important criticism I'm registering for the remake trailer is aesthetic: While Brandon's Crow walks through a dark and heavy city, this Crow seems taken from a John Wick scene, and Bill Skarsgård basically turned into Jared Leto's Joker (which is not a role model, I must add), although Danny Huston as villain is certainly a plus. All signs point to June 7, pushing "Ballerina" back a year (both are distributed by Lionsgate).
