Florida Public Service Commission staff reportedly recommended approval of a proposed tariff for a natural-gas pipeline sought by SpaceX subsidiary Coastal Connect Services, LLC, ahead of the commission’s October 6, 2026, conference. The proposed line would connect SpaceX operations near Cape Canaveral to Florida Gas Transmission and support fuel supply for Starship.

What Coastal Connect Services proposed

Florida PSC docket 20260094 names Coastal Connect Services, LLC, as the petitioner seeking approval of a natural-gas pipeline transmission tariff and a firm transportation service agreement.

The proposed pipeline in Brevard County is reported to be 32.4 miles long, with a 16-inch diameter. It would connect the company’s operations near Cape Canaveral to the Florida Gas Transmission interstate network.

Why the line is tied to Starship fuel supply

The proposal is intended to support methane supply for Starship operations and reduce reliance on truck-delivered liquefied natural gas (LNG). SpaceX reportedly told regulators that a single launch can require hundreds of LNG truckloads.

SpaceX would reportedly contract for all of the pipeline’s proposed capacity.
