The people at Bios Incube propose a very particular path: turning our ashes into a tree, through a special urn and an incubation platform that connects to a smartphone via WiFi, reporting and managing all the critical factors for its healthy growth.

The Bios Urn and Bios Incube
The concept has been floating around the Web for a while, but it is now that it has reached enough maturity to face a crowdfunding campaign. Bios Urn contains a seed, the appropriate growth medium, and an additional space where the ashes are placed. The urn is then positioned in a kind of smart incubator called Bios Incube, which with the help of a mobile app and WiFi connectivity allows someone else to control and monitor different aspects of the tree's growth, among them humidity. The incubation process can take about twelve months, and once that phase is complete, all that is left is to transplant the tree to the chosen location.

The urns can already be purchased separately at a price of $145 (there are versions for humans and animals), but the incubator was exclusive to Kickstarter at a cost of €350, and it will be necessary to wait a bit longer to see it in the store on the page. Those who participated in the crowdfunding will receive their units in November.
