On September 28, Google announced that AI Mode information monitoring is beginning a global rollout to all users. Robby Stein, Google Search’s vice president of product, said AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers had already been using the feature.
What AI Mode information monitoring does
People can tell AI Mode what they want it to watch. Google says Search will continuously check for changes across websites, forums, social posts, real-time data sources and the Shopping Graph. It may also suggest monitoring tasks while people search.
Stein pointed users to the Google app to try the feature.
Examples of what people can monitor
Google’s examples include new restaurants or pop-ups nearby, local activities for families, and product restocks or price drops. In practice, that means you can ask Search to keep an eye on a topic rather than repeat the same search yourself.
Google’s earlier subscriber-first plan
On May 19, 2026, Google said its information agents would launch first for AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers during that summer. The September announcement marked a later stage: a global rollout to all users.
