Google announced global access to Gemini 4 Argon on October 13, 2026, through separate routes for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, developers, enterprises and selected researchers. The paid API and subscription paths are distinct from Fairwind, Google’s separate program for approved cyber defenders. Google’s announcement set out the routes and API rates.
Google first announced Gemini 4 Argon on September 30, initially offering access to a set of trusted cyber defenders through Fairwind. NeoTeo previously covered questions about Argon’s practical coding performance; this article covers Google’s later announcement about who can access the model.

Fairwind is a separate cybersecurity path
The public app and API routes are distinct from Fairwind. Google’s September 30 announcement described the initial rollout through the program to trusted cyber defenders. Genbeta reports that Fairwind access is subject to organizational approval and limited to eligible internal cybersecurity, incident-response and penetration-testing teams. It also reports user-level authentication, phishing-resistant multifactor authentication, usage tracking, and restrictions on sharing, resale and use. Genbeta’s reporting describes this as a distinct route with some cyber restrictions removed under program controls.
Google’s announced API rates change after November 30, 2026
Google set the Gemini API limit at 1 million tokens shared between input and output. Its announced public-access API rates are per million tokens:
| API billing item | Introductory rate | After November 30, 2026 |
| Input tokens | $2 | $4 |
| Output tokens | $10 | $20 |
Google also announced a 95% discount on cached input tokens relative to the input-token rate. These are API rates, separate from subscription pricing. Google’s announcement gives the later rates as applying after November 30, 2026.
