When it comes to learning new physical and instructional skills, one is limited by the requirement of an instructor and a learner being present in the same space. Well, that will now become a thing of the past with the arrival of Grasp, the new portable device that attempts to overcome that limitation by connecting instructor and learner across distances. Grasp is designed to perch on the learner's shoulder like a parrot, allowing an instructor to supervise and guide all their movements from anywhere in the world. The device features a microphone, a camera, and a laser pointer, all controlled by an Arduino Yun board.
In this way, it can provide the instructor with a real-time view of where the learner is, communicating with them through the device and instructing them with the laser pointer. The creator of this device is Akarsch Sanghi, who designed Grasp with the idea of having a companion that looks over your shoulder and gives instructions while you learn something new, regardless of the distance between them.
