YouTube is full of audiovisual content, but sometimes we come across a video in English or another language and the built-in subtitles are very poor. So if we don't understand the language, we can't grasp the concept of the clip. That's why at Neoteo we bring you two simple Google Chrome extensions to add an external SRT or SUB file to YouTube videos. The method is the same one we use to add subtitles to media players like VLC or Gom Player.
Subtitles For YouTube
With this extension for the Google Chrome web browser, you can add SRT subtitles to a YouTube video. But if you want to go a little further, you'll have the option to change the appearance of the subtitles, change the speed, the language, and modify the font size. Its use is very easy: after installing the extension, at the bottom of the video you'll find three tabs. In Search you can search for subtitles (and also apply them), in Upload you download them to the video, and in Settings you'll find all the options to configure them.
Subtitles For YouTube
With this extension you can add external subtitles to any YouTube video. The extension supports SRT and SUB files. But its operation is different from the previous addon. Once the plugin is installed, you go to the YouTube video and, from the file folder, you drag and drop the subtitle onto the YouTube video, and they will automatically be incorporated.
With these two options you'll be able to find a large number of subtitles in the original language of the video or in Spanish. To get subtitles in Spanish, you'll have to go to the Settings section and select Spanish. In our tests everything has worked perfectly. We have searched for uncommon videos and in almost all cases the platforms have shown us Spanish subtitle options.
