Halo fans can't wait for October 27, the day the fifth installment hits shelves. The epic of the Master Chief will continue through new characters, but its multiplayer mode also deserves a chapter of its own. With 24 players and AI-controlled opponents, Warzone promises true chaos on screen, invoking the purest essence of the famous “everyone against everyone”.

One of the most important questions every Halo fan must ask is: “Where is the Master Chief?” For reasons we still don't know, the greatest Spartan of them all put on the Wally shirt and is nowhere to be found… although there are people looking for him. More precisely, Jameson Locke, a guy who seems used to impossible missions. I'm still not entirely convinced about what Locke can do to find the Master Chief, considering he survived everything the galaxy threw at him. It's only a few months until we know the full story... but it was logical to assume that the single-player campaign wouldn't be alone. If there's something Halo titles must calibrate perfectly, it's the multiplayer mode, and with that in mind, Warzone appears.

24 players divided into two teams of 12, maps that are four times larger compared to previous campaigns, action at 60 frames per second, and advanced artificial intelligence (that is, many Prometheans to destroy) are part of Warzone. Obviously, the more objectives neutralized by the player, the greater the amount of credits, which leads to better weapons and vehicles (Warthogs and Mantis, what could go wrong?). If we obey the words of Josh Holmes, who works for 343 Industries, Warzone is by far the “most ambitious” multiplayer campaign ever developed in the Halo universe.

In addition to defending Halo's legacy, Microsoft seems to be doing something else with Warzone mode: sending a message to Bungie, which still tries to polish Destiny with new expansions. Basically, Warzone seeks to become everything Destiny failed to be, beyond the natural differences between the two projects. The cannons are aimed at October 27.
