Every time we start browsing, we end up with many open tabs in the web browser. It's not uncommon for many of those tabs to be duplicates. For that reason, we'll show you a method that eliminates duplicate tabs in Google Chrome. We'll use the extension Unique Tabs which monitors all open tabs in the browser and if a page tries to load the same URL in another tab, it will close it automatically. Likewise, the platform will notify you via an alert and, if you don't click on the alert within five seconds, the extension will close the tab.
Once installed, the platform will start doing its work silently and without requiring users to perform any configuration. When you open a duplicate tab, you will see an alert window warning you of a duplicate tab (it shows the URL). If you ignore the alert, the tab will close automatically after five seconds, but you can stop the closing by clicking "Cancel".
The old duplicate tab will close automatically. The duplicate tab you opened last is kept open.
The web browser is one of the daily-use programs that consumes the most RAM. The more tabs we have open, the less RAM memory we have available. So an extension like this never hurts.
