With the Earl program, you'll learn how to convert an Internet shortcut into a Windows shortcut, allowing you to convert files with the .URL extension to .LNK.
If you're unfamiliar with these shortcut files, note that Internet shortcuts are commonly used to save web pages on your desktop and access sites from there. However, these shortcuts (.URL) often don't work with some programs, while Windows shortcuts (.LNK) do, which is why converting them from .URL to .LNK is so useful.
Once you've downloaded the program from its official page as a ZIP file, extract it and you'll see the Earl executable, but don't run it yet. Now, simply drag the Internet shortcut file(s) onto the Earl executable's icon.
