Many times we receive a PDF document with tables and need to extract those tables into an editable document. That is why, in this tutorial, we will show you how to do this task with the program Bytescout PDF Multitool. Thanks to the utility we will be able to detect the tables of a page in particular or extract all tables from the document, then export them in TXT, CSV, XML, JSON, or XLS format.
Once the program is downloaded from its official page, you just have to open the PDF file with the application, which is also a viewer, and you can view files with one or more pages.
From the left menu, you will have to click on Detect tables and automatically a window will open that will indicate the detected tables. These tables can be manipulated (number of rows and columns and set the border and ratio, among other functions).
At this point you will have to click on the Detect next tables button. Once detected, you only have to extract and export them by clicking on Proceed to extraction (select the output format).
From the next window you can customize the options to keep the text format, spaces, space between columns, extract the page that is displayed or all, or determine the pages from which you want to extract the tables.
To finish the process, you just have to click on the button to export the tables in the selected format and save it on your computer or copy the detection to the clipboard.
