Beat Finder is a Google Chrome extension that helps you identify songs on almost all streaming services on the internet, Shazam-style. With just two clicks, you can find out the name of the song playing on YouTube, Vimeo, and social networks, among other platforms.
As we know, Shazam has been offering this service on mobile devices for some time, but now this technology is available on desktop computers.
Once you download the extension from its official page, you'll see it appear as an icon in the top right corner of the browser.
To start using it, first play the song, then click the extension icon and finally its logo. You'll only have to wait a few seconds and the platform will give you the name of the song and band, the album, and a link to the music video and Spotify track.
In our tests, the component worked very well in almost all cases, but it couldn't detect any of the Ramones tracks we tried. Not having songs from the Queens punk group in the database is like a painter forgetting his brush.
But the tool is a good option when we see an advertisement or a short film and want to know the author and name of the song playing in the audiovisual work.
