The battle between Iron Man and Hulk in Avengers: Age of Ultron was only the first round. Now a new confrontation arrives in the form of a brutal short film called Iron Man: Gamma Protocol. Who will win?
A Brutal Fan-Made Short Film
The fight in Age of Ultron was spectacular, and if you still want more, look no further than Iron Man: Gamma Protocol, a brutal short film between Iron Man vs The Hulk. Created by animator Anthony McGrath, it features Bruce Banner, transformed into Hulk, and Tony Stark in his Iron Man armor, in a small American town so that General Ross can finally contain the Green Giant. While the sparse dialogue isn't worth highlighting, the film makes up for it with an extended and enjoyable fight between the two heroes, and a surprisingly great performance from Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark inside the Hulkbuster armor.
The Production of Gamma Protocol
The project has taken more than two years of production for McGrath, who has been showing his progress through concept art and videos on his YouTube channel. Although this short was not made with a Hollywood action movie budget, there is no denying that the quality is absolutely incredible. The Hulk is perfectly recreated, and we even get a CGI version of Tony Stark's face and the Iron Man and Hulkbuster suits, the latter created solely for the purpose of battling Hulk. The short features a wide range of urban destruction and excellent facial animation for both Hulk and Stark. So get comfortable, adjust the resolution to 1440p, and enjoy Iron Man: Gamma Protocol. And by the way, after the credits there's a special scene for fans of Planet Hulk.
