Independent studio Ovosonico and publisher 505 Games have just announced Last Day of June, an interactive story about love and loss. The story introduces a couple, Carl and June, in what begins as a magical outing to their favorite place; from that moment on, you must unlock a sequence of events that could save the day (and June's life) in this cinematic experience that forces players to ask themselves “what would you do to save the person you love”. Below is the emotional Last Day of June trailer:

Going back in time to save June

Judging by the images in the Last Day of June trailer, it seems that a car accident left Carl paralyzed and took June's life. That is where you must prevent it from happening, and to do so you will have to solve a series of emotionally challenging puzzles in an attempt to go back in time.

The team behind Last Day of June

The game features a star team including acclaimed director Massimo Guarini (Murasaki Baby, Shadows of the Damned), award-winning musician and record producer Steven Wilson, and Jess Cope (animator on Tim Burton's Frankenweenie and director of Metallica's “Here Comes Revenge” video).

“With Last Day of June, my vision is to create a fascinating emotional experience that connects with the broadest audience of human beings. People feel comfortable saying they don't like video games without really trying them, but they never say that about movies or music or art; there is always something they can identify with. I believe games can be just as universal and relatable, and that is what we are trying to show with this project” says director Massimo Guarini. Last Day of June is being developed by Ovosonico and will be available on PlayStation 4 and Windows. The game does not have a concrete release date but is expected to arrive during the course of 2017.
