A terrible disease threatens the princess's people, and the only cure lies at the top of a colossal tower. Platforms, puzzles, and enemies await as you help the princess climb a magical tower in virtual reality with Light Tracer.
A VR Puzzle-Platformer from Oasis Games
Developer Oasis Games has announced via a trailer that it will release Light Tracer, a virtual reality platform and puzzle game where your goal is to guide a princess to the top of a tower reminiscent of Babel to save her people. In the game, you take on the role of a mysterious all-powerful entity that can use a magical Light Rod with one hand and interact with the game world with the other. One hand guides the princess with the Light Rod, while the other rotates the world, allowing you to change perspective and interact with objects to activate switches, move objects, and perform other actions.
Gameplay and Features
Light Tracer combines the typical movement of platform games with clever puzzles and a unique control scheme. As you help the princess ascend higher and higher, you'll gradually uncover more about your relationship with her as the entity. The princess's journey unfolds across eight distinct chapters, each with a unique environment, ranging from icy landscapes to gravity-based puzzles using mechanical contraptions. Each level culminates in a challenging boss battle that requires strategy, so you'll need to study their attack patterns carefully.
Throughout the adventure, you'll guide the princess through action-packed levels that require precise jumps and defeating enemies to progress. But you'll also face mind-bending puzzles in every level. Sometimes solving a puzzle comes down to seeing things from the right perspective, so you'll constantly grab and rotate the tower to discover hidden elements, then activate switches to open portals or move objects to clear a path.
Light Tracer is being developed by Oasis Games and will be available on Windows and PlayStation 4 starting September 2017. The official site is Light Tracer.
