After a spectacular trilogy, a new installment of the Mass Effect franchise invites us to travel to the Andromeda galaxy. Enjoy the cinematic reveal trailer of Mass Effect: Andromeda.
“We slept for hundreds of years, dreaming of a new home. But when we finally woke up, our dreams of peace were shattered.” That is how the cinematic reveal trailer begins, where an expedition group embarks on a mission beyond the limits of the known universe. The story takes place long after the events of the first three Mass Effect games, where you can again choose between a male or female character—in this case, they are siblings. The character you choose will be designated as Pathfinder (Pioneer), an operative tasked with discovering new planets for the human species to colonize.
Gameplay in Andromeda
Your objective in Mass Effect: Andromeda is to move through the uncharted reaches of the Andromeda galaxy to uncover its mysteries, discovering vivid alien worlds and leading the charge to find a new home for humanity among the stars. To do that, you customize yourself and your squad with a fairly broad and flexible progression system, master third-person combat that combines advanced weaponry and special abilities, and explore an open galaxy aboard the ship Tempest. The game leverages the acclaimed Frostbite engine to bring to life the actions and emotions of the characters inhabiting the worlds of Andromeda.
Release and Andromeda Initiative
Starting today, users who have registered with the Andromeda Initiative will begin receiving important information about missions and special training opportunities, and they will also be eligible for a reward when the program is completed. The future of our species is in your hands. How far will you go to become the hero of humanity? Mass Effect: Andromeda is being developed by BioWare and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting in the first quarter of 2017.
