With Membrane you can create album covers using design tools and an image bank. But if you want to go further, its templates let you create backgrounds for social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
Two essential tools
The first tool is TEXT, which lets you customize the font extensively: adjust color, size, letter spacing, line height, alignment, underline, strikethrough, and add decorative effects to the text.
The second is FILL, a fill tool. From its options you can customize dimensions, color, opacity, border, and border thickness, among many other functions.
Export and limitations
Another useful feature is the ability to choose templates with preset formats. For example, you can select an album cover template or a Facebook background template. From the interface you'll find tools to insert text, place shapes, upload images from your computer, set dimensions, rotate, blend images, and adjust brightness, contrast, and saturation.
As you can see, the platform offers many options for creating great designs for album covers or social media backgrounds. Once you finish, you can set the resolution and format and export in PNG or JPEG (or a local format).
Although the environment includes all necessary functions, some advanced features are restricted in the free version, such as the unlimited library and high-resolution export. But with the free version's functions you can still make great designs. It's available for Windows and Mac OS X.
