Movix.ai: Would You Like a Movie Recommendation?
Movix.ai

Choosing a movie often communicates our state of mind. Bored? Action. Sad? Comedy. These are classic examples, but there can be important differences between what we feel and what we want. The Movix.ai portal seeks to fill that gap by applying an artificial intelligence and deep learning platform whose main task is to suggest the best movies based on genres and keywords we have entered. Processing is real-time, and no account creation is needed.

Do you remember that movie with a blonde actor who goes looking for a revolver that seems to be cursed? For most, that might not be enough, but for Google and avid movie consumers, those are plenty of clues that lead to Brad Pitt in The Mexican. Others might reach that same film through Julia Roberts (goddess at 49, I marry tomorrow), or through those two giants, James Gandolfini (whom we lost too soon) and J.K. Simmons. And then there are the genres themselves. Romance. Comedy. Adventure. Keywords that pop into our heads for dozens of reasons. Good day, bad day, boredom, a detail that suddenly reminds you of "that" movie, or the simple need to see something similar. Google can deliver precise results, but it's not as good at recommending. For that, Movix.ai exists.

Movix.ai: Would You Like a Movie Recommendation?
I'm still not convinced that "There's Something About Mary" has anything to do with science fiction and time travel. Whims of a neural network in training, I suppose...

Basically, Movix.ai harnesses the power of artificial intelligence and deep learning for movie recommendations. Technical details reveal a neural network based on LSTM (Long short-term memory) architecture, built with Google's TensorFlow framework. Like any neural network, it needs training, and the first step is to indicate our favorite movies and actors. From there, we start adding other keywords, and Movix.ai will present in real time which movies it thinks best match our tastes and our mood.

At first, Movix.ai's results can be a bit strange, and all entries must be written in English, since that's the only language it supports. Before you ask, Movix.ai only makes recommendations. The only content it offers are its official trailers, nothing else. It also serves to know the name of a movie.
