Some artists present warm and optimistic scenes, transmitting happiness and tranquility in every stroke. But there are others who dive deep into the mind, searching for the darkest threads... and pull them out. Ken Sarafin, former vocalist of the band Vale of Pnath, is one of them. Sarafin has created art for many bands in the metal universe as well as his own. Twisted visions, pain, fire, ashes, death, and indescribable creatures dominate his paintings, and we can't stop looking at them.
A Style Forged in Comics
The current member of Organosyde (or at least, the available info suggests) has shared in the past that he developed his own style by studying his father's enormous comic collection (Sgt. Fury and Spider-Man are two works he frequently mentions), who always encouraged him to keep drawing, and he considers Greg Capullo (Spawn, Angela, Batman) as the most influential in his artistic life.

Axeslasher, Listen to Reason, Exotype, Acedia, Arcania, Blue Waffle, Voiceless Location... if you look for the covers of these bands, you'll see Ken Sarafin's talent in action. Dark and corrupted environments, technology and flesh, aliens and demons. His art cries out for a place among video games. I think his style would fit very well in the world of Doom, or in a future remake of Dark Seed (with all due respect to master Giger, of course). Want to see more?
