In its Mexico announcement dated November 5, 2026, Nintendo said the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time edition was available exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo listed updates to the visuals, dialogue, music and controls. Nintendúo’s review describes the dungeons, their order, the map and the bosses as the same as in the 1998 game. NeoTeo previously covered the Switch 2 release; this article looks at the changes Nintendo announced and the structure a reviewer says remains.
The edition refreshes presentation and controls around an adventure whose dungeon-and-map framework, according to Nintendúo, remains familiar.
Nintendo lists audiovisual and control changes
Nintendo announced renewed graphics, voiced scenes and expanded dialogue, orchestral music, and revised camera and motion controls. It also named two added activities: a monster coliseum where players can challenge enemies again, and fairy thoughts scattered across Hyrule that provide information.
Nintendo calls this the game’s first Latin American Spanish localization. The original Ocarina of Time debuted on Nintendo 64 in 1998.
A reviewer describes the original structure as intact
Nintendúo’s review says the Switch 2 edition retains the original dungeons, their order, the map and the bosses. That account frames the release as an updated presentation of the 1998 adventure, alongside Nintendo’s listed changes to visuals, audio, controls and activities.
Ocarina play and a starting point for newcomers
Nintendo describes Ocarina of Time as a standalone adventure suitable as an entry point to the series. Its story follows child and adult Link in two eras as he tries to stop Ganondorf. Nintendo also says players can use the Switch 2 microphone to play the in-game ocarina by humming or using an instrument.
The separate ZELDA NOTES service requires a compatible smart device, a Nintendo Account and a stable internet connection. Some functions require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, sold separately. Nintendo says ZELDA NOTES is not available in every country.
