OpenAI scheduled the GPT-6 rollout in ChatGPT to expand to Free and Go starting Oct. 8, 2026, after saying the rollout for Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise began Oct. 7. Free and Go are assigned GPT-6 Luna, but access can still be staged by account, so the schedule does not mean every user sees the model at once. OpenAI’s release notes set out the rollout and plan assignments.

GPT-6 rollout schedule and plan assignments

OpenAI assigns GPT-6 Sol to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise, and GPT-6 Luna to Free and Go. For Enterprise, workspace administrator settings can affect access. To see which model OpenAI assigned to each plan—and how Intelligent UI fits—start here:

ChatGPT planAssigned Chat modelAnnounced rollout startIntelligent UI
Free and GoGPT-6 LunaOct. 8, 2026 (scheduled start)Available from Instant through Extra High reasoning
Plus and BusinessGPT-6 SolOct. 7, 2026 (stated start)Available from Instant through Extra High reasoning
ProGPT-6 Sol; GPT-6 Astra for Pro reasoningOct. 7, 2026 (stated start)Available from Instant through Extra High reasoning with GPT-6 Sol; not supported with Pro reasoning
EnterpriseGPT-6 SolOct. 7, 2026 (stated start)Available from Instant through Extra High reasoning

OpenAI says rollout access can vary by account, and Enterprise access also depends on workspace settings. If GPT-6 does not appear in the Chat model menu, those access conditions may matter. The scheduled dates describe the rollout sequence, not a guarantee that every account received the model on that date.

GPT-6 Astra also has a separate role in this release: it powers Pro reasoning, which does not support Intelligent UI. NeoTeo covered Astra’s earlier announcement in a separate report.

What Intelligent UI changes in ChatGPT

Interactive maps, cards, diagrams, and widgets appear inside ChatGPT conversations.

Intelligent UI lets ChatGPT combine an answer with visual and interactive elements. OpenAI lists diagrams, buttons, forms, charts, calculators, bill splitters, and games as examples. ChatGPT can choose an interactive presentation or answer in plain text, and the interface can appear progressively while the response is generated. OpenAI describes the feature as part of the GPT-6 Chat rollout.

App support, visual settings, and usage limits

Older ChatGPT desktop apps for macOS and Windows do not support Intelligent UI. OpenAI recommends using ChatGPT on the web; mobile users should update to a supported current app. On the web, the Layout and visuals setting can reduce visual elements, though some may still appear.

Intelligent UI has no separate usage quota. Existing model, tool, and plan allowances still apply. The feature is available with reasoning levels from Instant through Extra High, but not with Pro reasoning.

ChatGPT Work and Codex are unchanged

This rollout applies to Chat in ChatGPT. OpenAI says the models powering ChatGPT Work and Codex are unchanged in this release.
