Overview is a website that allows you to explore the beauty of our planet through satellite and aerial images. If you love the impressive landscapes and cities that Earth offers, with this site you will discover those beautiful places from different points of view. Google Earth has sparked our curiosity about Earth, and now we surf the internet to get to know every corner of the planet's geography. For that, Overview is essential.
Browsing and Searching for Images
When you enter the Overview website, you'll see photos like this beautiful image of Lake Natron, Tanzania. Hover your cursor over a photo and a small dialog box appears with all the information about it (coordinates, location, etc.). That's how convenient the site is: it not only offers beautiful images of the world, but also gives you information about them.
You can search for images directly from the search bar, typing a country, city, or the exact place. Results will be listed, and each row will show the name of the place, the geographic coordinates of the location, and when you hover over the information, captures will be displayed on the right side of the interface. Click on a thumbnail to enlarge the photo and the place information. You'll also find options to share the image via email and Facebook.
The Explorer Section
But if you want to explore and discover new places, in the top right menu you'll find the "Explorer" section. There you'll find the following categories:
- Daily (important events of the day)
- Index (different categories such as Nature, Design, etc.)
- Map (the best photos located on a world map)
There are many pages to explore the geography of our world, but Overview stands out for offering photos of buildings, cities, nature, and more, seen from a beautiful and unique point of view.
