Inspired by Mass Effect, Deus Ex, and BioShock, P.A.M.E.L.A. is a sci-fi horror open-world shooter with RPG elements set in the utopian city of Eden, where strange events have affected the population.
Players take on the role of a Sleeper, awakened from cryosleep by Eden's artificial intelligence, Pamela. Together, they must survive the fight against the tortured citizens of Eden and discover what caused the fall of the floating utopia. The game focuses on the underlying lack in humanity's yearning for technological and biological advancement.
The Fallen Utopia of Eden
In Eden, strange events have caused the population to be infected with a disfiguring disease, making them unpredictable and sometimes hostile. They defend their home against the Sleeper's intrusion. Thanks to a personality-based AI system, no encounter will ever be the same with these afflicted enemies. The Sleeper can also interact with other factions, such as security droids, robotized custodians, and mysterious inhabitants hidden in the depths of Eden. Each faction exhibits its own behaviors and alliances, and will react dynamically to your actions, becoming allies or enemies.
Survival and Upgrades
The gameplay will also lead you to search for supplies such as food and water to avoid hunger and dehydration, as well as find equipment to aid in combat. The Sleeper has a weapon upgrade system and can build a safe shelter to defend against Eden's inhabitants. The world includes a full day and night cycle, requiring you to adapt your strategies depending on the time of day. Additionally, managing the city's energy reserves is crucial—use energy only when necessary to avoid the dangers of being trapped in the dark.
P.A.M.E.L.A. is being developed by NVYVE Studios and will be available exclusively on Windows starting March 9, 2017.
