We know well that modern browsers devour RAM, and the first recommendation is to reduce the number of tabs… but many users out there keep dozens, even hundreds of tabs open in their sessions. The real problem is that they become very difficult to manage, and Chrome's collapse is never far away… which on more than one occasion refuses to restore them. The Session Buddy extension takes on the role of tab management and a “shield” so that any user can recover their favorite tabs in a few clicks, without headaches.
Chrome has a life of its own, we've known that for a long time. Every time we trust in its (apparent) stability, the browser conjures up some error that collapses our entire session, and the worst part is that in many cases it does not manage to restore everything that was open. If we multiply that frustration by dozens of tabs, the desire to turn the keyboard into a projectile is almost irresistible.
Fortunately there are some direct solutions, and one of the most interesting is Session Buddy. This extension offers us an alternative management system in Chrome, and to create special categories that not only help us organize a large number of tabs, but also to bring them back easily when Chrome decides (for indecipherable reasons) to throw in the towel.
How to organize hundreds of tabs in Chrome with Session Buddy
The first step in Session Buddy is undoubtedly the most challenging: We must separate the tabs loaded in different windows and categories, a task completely manual. If all we want is to open a significant number of tabs in a single window, it is enough to click the Save button and assign a name to the new category. Otherwise, I recommend storing tabs that share the same theme in exclusive windows.
Another possibility is to combine two or more sessions into a “super-session” with the ability to open multiple windows and tabs in just four clicks. As if that weren't enough, Session Buddy allows us to “change plans” on the fly, for example, opening all tabs together in that same window, and not following the previous configuration of separate windows. Finally, if the user wants to move their sessions to another browser, the backup and restore tool works perfectly.
