The spectacular “Betrayed” trailer for the new expansion of Star Wars: The Old Republic titled Knights of the Eternal Throne is here, offering a deeper look into the past of Vaylin and Senya.
The Old Republic and Its Expansions
Released in 2011 for PC, Star Wars: The Old Republic introduced us to the era of the Old Republic in an MMORPG where tensions between the Galactic Republic and the emergence of a new Sith Empire threaten the fate of the galaxy.
The game was a commercial success, transitioning to a free-to-play model shortly after, and it now boasts five expansions so far. These expansions have renewed interest in cinematic storytelling, along with the addition of new planets, companions, and a dynamic story affected by player choices.
Knights of the Eternal Throne and the Betrayed Trailer
For those users who continue to enjoy Star Wars: The Old Republic, get ready because a new expansion titled Knights of the Eternal Throne is on its way. Announced through a spectacular cinematic CG video, “Betrayed” is the name of the trailer for the new expansion, which looks more like a Star Wars short film thanks to its incredible quality. Over six minutes, we see the relationship between a young Vaylin and the Force, as well as Senya's past. It all ends badly when Senya discovers that Vaylin joins the Dark Side, causing death and destruction in her place of origin.
The story of Knights of the Eternal Throne continues from the previous expansion, Knights of the Fallen Empire, where you take on the role of the Outlander, a veteran of the galactic war who fights for the throne against the forces of Empress Vaylin. This expansion also introduces two new features, Galactic Command and Uprisings, which allow you to participate in new battles and expand your influence across the galaxy.
Star Wars: The Old Republic - Knights of the Eternal Throne is being developed by BioWare and will be available on Windows starting December 2, 2016, in Spain.
