In a report published October 10, 2026, Infobae says Tesla websites in several European markets now use Tesla Assisted Driving instead of Full Self-Driving (Supervised). Tesla’s French product page uses the localized name Tesla Conduite Assistée. Infobae Tesla’s French product page

Tesla says drivers must still supervise the system

Tesla’s French page says its currently enabled features require active driver supervision and do not make the vehicle autonomous. The page also says the full Tesla Conduite Assistée option is not currently available in France and distinguishes it from Tesla Conduite Assistée Basique.

Germany’s reported position and the EU approval process

Infobae attributes criticism of the former name to Germany’s transport ministry, which said the system does not take over the entire driving task. The report says German transport minister Steffen Bilger discussed technical and civil-liability issues with Tesla in September and would support pursuing approval across the EU. That support was reportedly tied to a condition limiting the system to no more than 10% above posted speed limits.

The EU approval process is separate from the name change. NeoTeo previously covered the proposed delay to an EU-wide vote; Infobae reported on October 10 that the vote, previously expected in October, had been postponed to December at the earliest.
