Some mushrooms can be truly beautiful. They offer a true festival of colors, wonderful shapes, pure delicacy in each of their folds, and an extraordinary harmony with their surroundings—as long as we are able to ignore the potential that several genera have to kill a person within days. The case of Amanita is the most striking: Many of its mushrooms are very beautiful, but the genus has been responsible for 95 percent of deaths.
On the other side, there are mushrooms that seem to have declared war against the universe and everything that lives in it. No matter from what angle we observe them, they are simply horrible, and in a way that gives them an advantage, keeping potential threats away.
Over time, humans have learned to recognize which ones can be ingested (or used in the preparation of home remedies), and which ones are better left alone, but one thing is certain: Someone must have been very hungry to try to eat one of these mushrooms...
One of its alternative names is "Jelly Drops", but it looks more like a semi-chopped intestine thrown on the ground...
"Devil's Fingers". Horrible appearance, its smell stinks, and it can't be eaten. Triple crown. (?)
