How to claim a digital entitlement
A digital entitlement is permission to access a game digitally. Xbox says you can claim one for a supported disc by inserting it into an Xbox One or Xbox Series X and launching the game. After the claim, you can play the supported game digitally without leaving the disc in the drive.
The qualifying disc still matters
Xbox says the physical disc continues to work as before after you claim the entitlement. The digital benefit may be limited or revoked if you lose, sell, or give away the qualifying disc. So while you do not need to keep it in the console to play digitally, keeping possession of it remains important.
Game support determines the extras
Xbox says most, not all, Xbox One and Xbox Series X disc-based games are eligible. Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming benefits also depend on whether the individual game supports those features.
