Yandex Cloud remained in emergency mode in the morning status update for October 12, 2026, after attacks were reported at three Yandex data centers between October 8 and 11. The Insider reported that the attacks affected facilities in Sasovo, Kaluga and Vladimir, with different damage reported at each site.

The three facilities had different reported impacts

The Insider reported an attack at Sasovo on October 8, one at Kaluga on October 9 and one at Vladimir on October 11. The Sasovo and Vladimir facilities were reported shut down completely; several modules at Kaluga were knocked out. NeoTeo previously covered the reported shutdown at Vladimir.

A separate October 11 status update described partial capacity in Compute Cloud, problems with some database and Kubernetes clusters, Monium as unavailable, and restrictions on new resource allocations. The October 12 update placed Yandex Cloud in emergency mode.

The six-month estimate concerned equipment deliveries

An unnamed IT-industry source cited by Kommersant estimated that replacement-equipment deliveries could take up to six months, The Insider reported. That estimate concerns the delivery of equipment, rather than the duration of Yandex Cloud’s service recovery.

Yandex arranged transfers with other cloud providers

After the attacks at Sasovo and Kaluga, Yandex reportedly reached agreements with VK Cloud, Selectel and K2Cloud to accelerate the transfer of affected customers’ services.
