All Windows wallpapers in one place: from 3.1 to 11

We know full well that Windows has many things to fix and that Redmond simply doesn't listen to its users, but today we're going to put down the flamethrower for a while and enjoy one of the most interesting aspects of its operating systems: the wallpapers. A Reddit user visited the Windows 11 section to share all Windows images and wallpapers, starting with Windows 3.1 up to the latest edition, and the collection also includes rarer backgrounds, available only in betas and other special versions.

There's no doubt: the first thing we do with the Windows desktop is customize it. An icon here, a font there, and of course, wallpapers. Personally, I use Wallpaper Engine and other alternatives to use videos as wallpapers, but it would be a mistake to ignore the backgrounds that come with Windows, especially those belonging to previous editions.

Think about it for a moment: Windows ME was the first to include HD examples, there's a lot of life in Windows XP beyond Bliss, the nature packs in Vista are excellent, and Windows 7 themes based on architecture look great on any screen. The most interesting thing about this collection is that it is not limited to retail editions. In another parallel gallery we can find the wallpapers available under beta versions, and some not-so-well-known wallpapers from these regions also appear. For example, the Windows 3.1 category has an illustration of a very satisfied dog for having destroyed a doll, and it belongs to the Japanese edition of Windows 3.1, which was later included in different disc sets distributed by Microsoft (already backed up on the Internet Archive, if you're interested).
