Previously we talked about Dream from Wombo.art, one of the best online AI art generators. With just a word or a phrase, the service delivers everything from extraordinary landscapes to the most twisted nightmare. However, it is not the only player in this game of algorithms. Another portal that deserves our attention is Artflow, which lets us create all kinds of portraits with artificial intelligence, and its mechanism is exactly the same: all it asks you to begin with is a description.
Anime characters, imaginary faces, photorealistic reproductions... in essence, an artificial intelligence can generate all the art you desire as long as it receives the right training. It is not at all easy to start from scratch with them, but experts in the field have taken the trouble to prepare different frontends and online services that simplify the generation process to a couple of clicks, or alternatively, phrases and keywords.
One of the best right now is Dream from Wombo.art, where we keep generating fantastic paintings and disturbing environments. However, if you prefer something focused on faces and portraits, you should study Artflow more closely, which is based on generative adversarial networks and OpenAI's CLIP model.
Artflow: Create All Kinds of Faces with AI
You'll need to create an account or use Google credentials before you can access the system. Once you've done that, the rest is limited to describing the characteristics of the character you want. Artflow puts a lot of emphasis on this, and for now it only supports English. Gender, skin color, age, and hair type are some of the parameters Artflow tends to favor, but personally I'm more interested in taking the algorithm out of its element, so I decided to use phrases from books, movies, and series as references.
As expected, its results were varied. In some cases it delivered portraits that could end up in a video game or a board game, while in others it wasn't clear what it was trying to do. Another detail to note is that out of nine creations with random phrases, it presented only one woman, which could suggest some bias in its training, but Artflow recommends combating it with specific descriptions. Maybe it's not as powerful as Wombo.art, but if you need to create AI art to inspire your projects, Artflow will be useful.
