Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, King T'Challa returns to his home in Wakanda. But he soon finds his sovereignty challenged by factions within his own country. Two enemies, Erik Killmonger, an exiled Wakandan, and Ulysses Klaue, the arms dealer who appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron, conspire to overthrow the new king's kingdom. Now T'Challa must team up, as the superhero Black Panther, with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and the members of the Dora Milaje, a group of Wakandan special forces made up of women, to prevent a world war.
