We generally want our browsers to be lightweight, spartan, and free of secondary features that affect performance. But there's nothing wrong with adding a few extra details to our environments, as long as they don't ruin stability and speed. With that in mind, we come to Cursor Style, an extension with several packs of free cursors for Chrome, including animated options and a slider to adjust their size.
Browsers don't need any help to end up full of junk. Beyond user intervention, it's their own developers who insist on loading browsers with features and tools that aren't that useful, or that should be optional, perhaps in the form of an official extension.
However, the web browser doesn't have to be a gray and sterile wasteland. There are several options to decorate speed dialers and new tab screens, but what about cursors? In the vast majority of cases, the browser simply takes the system cursors, but that can change thanks to extensions like Cursor Style, which offers packs of free cursors for Chrome.
Free Cursors for Chrome
We don't have to do much to use Cursor Style. Once installed, open its menu, choose the cursor style, and the size with its slider. HD Mode is just a switch to activate animated cursors. Cursor Style warns that this consumes additional resources, and for that reason it comes disabled by default. If our hardware has enough firepower, these cursors with effects shouldn't cause problems.
Cursor Style also gives us the option to load custom cursors (max 128x128 pixels and 100 kilobytes), or explore the cursor packs available on its official page. From Pokémon to Pusheen, through social networks, comics and memes, there's a lot of material a click away.
